Curriculum Vitae

Alexander Rieger completed a Bachelor’s degree in “Management and Technology” at the Technical University of Munich with majors in mechanical engineering and financial management. From 2013 to 2017, he was part of the Elite Graduate Program “Finance and Information Management” (M.Sc. with honors) offered jointly by the Technical University of Munich, the University of Augsburg, and the University of Bayreuth. In 2015, he worked as a visiting scholar at the Erasmus Research Institute of Management in Rotterdam and from 2016 to 2017, he did research at the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences of the University of Mannheim. In parallel to his academic endeavors, he did various projects and internships in and outside of Europe, e.g., at Allianz Real Estate, Assenagon, Pimpco, A.T. Kearney, and Siemens. Mr. Rieger joined the Research Center Finance & Information Management in May 2016 as a student assistant and became a research assistant in May 2017.

Main Research

Mr. Rieger’s research tackles various challenges in digitalization and energy systems. He as a particular focus on blockchain, mobility as a service, electricity tariffs, energy storage, and microgrids.
